Type of TV? LED, LCD, Plasma? – LED is the latest technology that offers the brightest picture. It also is only 1.2 inches thin and the most energy efficient. Great for bright rooms and when décor is paramount. Plasma is the oldest technology, but is still the “benchmark” for picture quality. Ideal for darker rooms. Also can get a larger sized Plasma TV for the money. LCD is quickly becoming replaced by LEDs. All technologies offer 1080p resolution and offer 3D capabilities.
- Size of TV? Due to HD programming, sitting distances can be closer than with the older CRT TVs. A good rule of thumb is to purchase the largest screen possible, yet not too large where you will feel you are sitting in the 1st row of a movie theater.
- Do I need Surround Sound? A large screen is only half the experience.
A good surround system will allow you to “feel” the action. Whether it’s a car chase, exploding planets or even a subtle rain storm, surround sound allows for the “you are there” experience.
- Is multi-room audio very expensive? Multi-Room systems vary by how much control and how many independent music sources are desired. Historically, a full featured system was costly, but current technology solutions are making it much more affordable and easier to use.
- Why use a custom integrator? A custom integrator such as All Media Consultants can recommend products that we know work well together. An experienced integrator knows best how to professionally run cabling within walls, integrate all the components, custom program a universal remote and train you on how to use your new system.
